I am the first to confess that when I first saw Twitter and a host of the other social networks that I just didn’t get it. Frankly, people from around the world were inviting me to become their “friend”.

Maybe it’s just me, but the word “friend” has great significance in my personal space and I don’t make friends easily. I have thousands of acquaintances, however, it takes a while before I let someone in close enough within my inner circle to be a friend.

Semantics aside, I am finally taking an objective look at the Big 3 _--Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter-- and stepping cautiously into the fray.

That being said, I have been reaching out to top agents and gurus to help crack the code and get it right.

I had occasion to catch up with Tom Ferry recently who has been touring coast to coast preaching the social media gospel.
